BEFORE YOU BEGIN

Sample Certified Award
Sample Certified Passport


The following documents need to be submitted with your application:

Residential Details

  • Copy of your passport OR Australian citizenship certificate
  • Copy of your visa document (or allow us to check VEVO online)
  • Copy of your immigration card (for refugees only)

Personal Details

  • Copy of your proof of name change (if applicable. eg. Marriage certificate)
  • Statutory declaration for inconsistencies in your name between documents

Qualification Award

  • Copy of your final award in original language
  • Copy of your English translation from an approved translator (if necessary)
  • Copy of your undergraduate final award in original language and English translation if you are applying to have a postgraduate qualification assessed

Academic Record

  • Copy of your academic transcript/marksheets showing all years of study
  • Copy of your English translation from an approved translator (if necessary)
  • Copy of your undergraduate transcripts/marksheets in original language and English translation if you are applying to have a postgraduate qualification assessed

Secondary School Certificate

  • Copy of your secondary school certificate in original language
  • Copy of your English translation from an approved translator (if necessary)

If you are unable to supply your award certificate / academic transcripts, in certain cases, we may be able to accept a statutory declaration. Learn more
Statutory Declaration 

In certain circumstances, if you do not have a copy of your award certificate or academic transcript, and will not be able to get a copy, we may be able to accept a statutory declaration. 

You will need to provide an official signed statutory declaration using the WA Department of Justice form below, and include the following information:
• The qualification awarded
• Year awarded
• Year study commenced
• Year study completed
• The number of years of study
• Whether the study was taken full-time or part-time
• Why you are unable to provide the original document

IMPORTANT
IT IS AN OFFENCE to intentionally make a false statement in a statutory declaration under section 11 of the Statutory Declarations Act 1959. Statements made in declarations must be true in every particular.

All documents must be in Portable Document Format (PDF). We do not accept other electronic formats such as JPEG, GIF, TIFF, PNG or photos of documents.

Certified copies

The Overseas Qualifications Unit reserves the right to ask you to supply certified copies of your original documents or contact the issuing institution to verify your qualification.


Translations

The Overseas Qualifications Unit accepts translations carried out by both Australian and overseas translators. All translations must be carried out by an accredited translator.


Assessments

This is an assessment of your educational level and is not an occupational assessment. You may need to complete other requirements (such as registration or licensing) to gain employment in your occupation.
